Please Help

I am sitting here thinking about motherhood and feeling pretty inadequate. Caleb has always been a little on the aggressive side, but it is getting a little out of hand. Between spankings, biting him back, timeouts and a few "talkings to" I am at my wits end. I even gave his pacifier back to him so that he would be less likely to bite people. I dont know what to do to help him. I am nervous every time I take him to church or he is around other kids thinking "What if he bites someone? What if he hits someone?" What makes it worse is that he is starting KDO in 2 weeks! I am not going to lie I am freaking out a little. I have prayed and prayed that God would help him be less aggressive. Can you guys pray for him? He is not a mean kid! If you know him, you know that he is sweet and that he loves to hug and kiss and play and have fun. I am afraid that he is going to have a stigma as "that kid who bites everyone" or "that kid who hits everyone". Please friends. Pray.

Hey girl i will pray pray pray. Just a quick question though...does he do that to everybody? or just kids younger than him? or older etc? the reason i ask is because my cousin does the same thing (yes i have a 2 year old cousin) anyway...he beat up on kids younger than him and then they put him in an older class and he stopped...well he stopped in a sense ...when he is still around younger he still acts this way...but older kids bring out the best in him...and his talking improved too!

You are a great mother. Just remember they are working out their personality and learning how to express their emotions. Keep reminding yourself this too will pass. You just keep on being consistent and you will see the fruit of all your effort. It may take some time but it will happen. Hang in there! I feel your pain girl but the biting is getting better with Ethan. So remember to just keep on trying to teach him and eventually he will get it!

hey so i just was reading in my american baby magazine about what to do if your child bites... they say you should get down at their level and say "ouch." then walk away, that way they know they did something bad. to which i reply HAHAHAHAHA.

this is my story about two years ago...you probably remember. hang in there. you are doing nothing wrong, and he is NOT a bad kid. some kiddos go through things like this. most people are very understanding...some are not. but always know that you are not a bad mom. you are a great mom and he will grow out of this. i posted on fb to talk with jennifer d. she gave us some great advise about having designated times to be a little rough with him. i don't want to misquote her, but of all the advise i got, hers was the best by a long shot. we noticed a difference right away. i'm sad to hear you are so down about this...mainly because i remember what it's like. i hated even going to playdates because i just never knew what might happen and i always felt like people thought horrible things of my child. rylie totally had that stigma from biting sadie grace and drawing blood. i will pray for you daily. hang in there...it will get better.

Thinking of you and you're not alone. I will pray and I know he has the best mom ever and it's just a phase! Just teach him that it's kung fu! LOL :) Love ya.
